Exotic materials.
A considered configuration.
Specify the exact alloy and the parts it applies to: sensor housing, connector shell, pressure boundary, magnet carrier or mounting hardware. Availability depends on the product geometry and the agreed manufacturing scope.
Stainless steel
A starting point for many sensor housings and assemblies. Grade, surface condition, crevices and the water chemistry still need review.
Titanium
An option for weight-sensitive and corrosion-sensitive applications. Agree grade, strength requirements and the interfaces to dissimilar metals.
Inconel
Nickel-alloy options for demanding service. Inconel 625 can be considered where relevant; select the exact alloy against the media and mechanical requirements.
Monel
Nickel-copper alloy options for suitable marine duties. Specify the grade and review flow conditions, exposure and the complete assembly.
Complete wetted scope
Consider fasteners, connector shells, seals, cable jacket and mating equipment together. A housing material alone does not qualify the whole installation.
Traceability & certification
Define material certificates, heat traceability, inspection and documentation in the enquiry. Confirm the scope and availability in the quotation.
One product.
Several material decisions.
Define each wetted component together with its neighbouring materials and operating environment.
- Sensor housingExact alloy, wall geometry and sensing requirements.
- Connector bodyShell material, mating interface and sealing arrangement.
- Mounting & targetFasteners, brackets and magnetic target carrier.
- Cable & sealsJacket and seal compatibility with the service media.

Stainless steel
316LMolybdenum-bearing stainless steel with good general corrosion resistance. Chloride exposure and crevices need consideration in submerged service.

Titanium
Grade selected for the applicationLow density and excellent seawater corrosion resistance. A useful option where weight matters; strength depends on the specified grade.

Inconel
Alloy 625High strength with strong resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and chloride stress-corrosion cracking. Suited to demanding marine environments.

Monel
Alloy 400Nickel-copper alloy with good resistance to flowing seawater. Stagnant conditions and crevices still require attention.
Illustrative finishes. Specify the alloy for each component. Standard Nano M12: stainless steel body with titanium connector.
Include the environment in your brief.
Send the media or water chemistry, immersion duration, pressure, temperature, neighbouring materials and applicable project standards. If you already have a specified alloy, include its grade and certification requirements.
