Cable-Connected Subsea Magnetic Proximity Switch

CONFIGURED TO YOUR APPLICATION

A magnet-operated subsea proximity switch with a sealed sensing face, adjustable threaded mount and moulded cable to a Nano subsea connector. Select the target and complete cable assembly together.

ACTUATIONNon-contact magnetic target
CONNECTIONNano subsea cable assembly

Why choose this configuration?

Consider a moulded cable arrangement when you want to route the mating connection away from the sensing point.

FUNCTION & INTEGRATION

Position feedback. Without contact.

A separate magnetic target moves into the sensing zone and changes the contact state. There is no external moving plunger; the target, sensing gap and mounting tolerances define the operating point.

Actuate

Define how the operator, mechanism or magnetic target produces the input.

Connect

Match the contact function, cable and Nano subsea termination to the control circuit.

Verify

Test the complete configuration against the agreed immersion and operating duty.

BROAD TECHNICAL OVERVIEW

Specify the assembly.
Resolve every interface.

This family uses a magnetic target. It is not a general-purpose inductive metal detector; sensing distance cannot be specified independently of the target and installation.

Key engineering inputs

  • Magnet grade, orientation and mounting arrangement
  • Operate and release gaps across installation tolerances
  • Housing material and surrounding magnetic influences
  • Contact load, switching rate and cable pin allocation

No pressure, electrical or functional-safety certification is implied by this overview.

MATERIALS & SUBSEA CONNECTIONS

One coordinated
engineering brief.

Review wetted materials, static seals, mounting and cable construction together. Titanium, Inconel and Monel options require an agreed grade and evaluation of the complete design.

Specify the exact Nano mating pair and pin allocation. A connector’s immersion rating does not automatically establish the switch assembly rating or permit underwater mating.

OPERATING PRINCIPLE · Cable-Connected Subsea Magnetic Proximity Switch

How this switch detects position without contact

  1. Mount at the sensing point

Fix the switch beside the mechanism and mount the specified target on the moving part. The target passes the sensing face at the position you need to detect.

  2. Target enters the sensing range

The suitable target changes the configured contact state without physically pressing the switch. Confirm the target type, sensing gap and alignment against the exact product drawing.

  3. Connect the position signal

Route the signal through this product’s specified cable and connector arrangement to the control input. Review the contact function, electrical load and pin allocation together.

  4. Check travel and repeatability

Verify indication and reset throughout the installation tolerances. A proximity switch indicates a defined position; it does not measure the entire cylinder stroke.

For this product: Use the approved configuration for Cable-Connected Subsea Magnetic Proximity Switch. Confirm mounting thread, target, sensing gap, body and connector materials, cable route and operating conditions.

INSTALLATION & SELECTION

Before you fit the switch.

Can this switch operate continuously underwater?

This is a subsea switch configuration. Specify continuous immersion as an operating duty, including external pressure, duration, water temperature and media. The supplied assembly specification defines its limits, including the actuation interface and cable termination.

What should I specify for use in seawater?

Specify the water conditions and the materials of the housing, connector, mounting hardware and target or striker. Material selection is specific to the installation; a corrosion-resistant housing does not establish the suitability of every connected component.

What target does the switch detect?

Select the target and operating gap for this configuration. A proximity switch indicates a defined position; it does not measure the complete travel of an actuator. Use the product drawing to establish the target, approach direction and mounting clearance.
