APPLICATION ENGINEERING

Your installation defines the solution.

Start with the duty, the equipment drawing or an existing interface. We bring the sensing point and its complete connection into the same conversation.

01

Position sensing

Define what the control system needs to know. Subsea proximity switches and underwater position switches provide discrete feedback for valve states, actuator travel and tooling engagement.

02

Cable assemblies

Specify single-ended leads, double-ended subsea cable assemblies or a coordinated harness. Resolve cable lengths, conductor allocation, connector orientation and end terminations together.

Custom integration

Bring mechanical fit, materials, electrical interfaces and the installation environment into one engineering brief. Agree drawings, configuration and verification scope before supply.

CUSTOMISATION WITH PURPOSE

Resolve the details
that make the assembly fit.

Mechanical fit

Mounting thread, housing material, target alignment, connector orientation and available space.

Electrical connection

Switching duty, control input, conductor count, pin assignment, shielding and termination.

Operating environment

Continuous immersion, pressure, temperature, water chemistry and material compatibility.

Installation & service

Cable route, bend envelope, strain relief, identification and access for replacement.

Verification & documents

Agree the applicable drawings, electrical checks, pressure-test requirements and supporting records.

Supply configuration

Individual components or an agreed assembly package, with defined part numbers and quantities.

BEYOND THE SEABED

The same engineering approach.
Different operating environments.

Continuous submersion creates application-specific challenges. Explore how switch position, cable routing and connection choices change with the installation.

FROM DRAWING TO CONNECTION

A clear route to your custom solution.

  1. Share the application

Send operating conditions, drawings and the positions or signals you need to monitor.

  2. Define the interfaces

Review the switch, target, connector, cable and termination as one assembly requirement.

  3. Agree the configuration

Confirm the supply scope, applicable verification, drawings, quantities and quotation.

SPECIFY THE RIGHT FUNCTION

Position switch, proximity sensor or limit switch?

Engineers use different terms for underwater position feedback. A proximity switch detects a target without mechanical contact. “Limit switch” often describes an end-of-travel duty, but can also mean a mechanically operated device. Define the required function and switching technology together.

Read the underwater switch selection guide ↗
Can I customise the whole connection?

Yes — share the complete sensing and connection requirement. Switch configuration, cable length and construction, connector interfaces, pin assignment and termination can be reviewed together. Feasibility and operating limits depend on the agreed configuration.

Is the illustrated system a standard product?

No. It demonstrates where DepthLink switches, cable assemblies and interfaces can fit within a system. Grey mechanisms and control equipment provide application context. Each enquiry receives a defined product and engineering scope.
